Builders Supplies (West Coast) Ltd are pleased to announce that the Forest Stewardship Council has renewed our certificate for quality timber for another year. The FSC recently undertook their yearly inspection, and we successfully passed both schemes, FSC and PEFC- Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification.
The FSC as an organisation, are concerned with environmental issues relating to timber, and the conservation of ancient woodland and the recognition of indigenous peoples rights. All FSC timber and products come from forests independently certified as being responsibly managed to the highest environmental, social and economic standards.
Builders Supplies (West Coast) Ltd takes environmental concerns very seriously and are delighted to have been accredited this award for the second year. Timber manager, Jeff Marshall has said “We try all aspects to help the environment, and this is one way of monitoring the quality of our timber to ensure we are helping the forests in the best way possible.”
What this means to the customer; by purchasing timber products with the FSC and PEFC label you are saying NO to destruction of the world’s forests.
